Milan, 24 Sept. (LaPresse) – Two people were killed and eight others injured in a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, according to the Kyiv Independent. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that paramedics were heading to the city’s Solomyanskyi, Svyatoshynskyi and Podilskyi districts, whilst Russian missiles continued to strike the city. In the Dniprovskyi district, debris fell into the courtyard of a residential building, where people may be trapped under the rubble, he said. Debris also fell on an administrative building in the same district. “In the Podilskyi district, debris fell onto a car park near a healthcare facility. Several cars caught fire. Emergency services are arriving at the scene,” Klitschko said. Debris from the missiles also fell near a maternity hospital, shattering the windows and damaging part of the building’s façade, he added. Although there were no casualties at the maternity hospital, one person was killed in a nearby car park, Klitschko said, adding that a medical diagnostic centre had also been damaged.
