Rome, 25 Sept. (LaPresse) – Two reservists from the Israel Defence Forces died yesterday after a small explosive drone they were piloting in the Gaza Strip crashed for reasons yet to be determined and exploded shortly afterwards, the army announced. The soldiers in question are Staff Sergeant Nadav Kali, aged 24, from Har Halutz, and Staff Sergeant Ofek Moalem, aged 23, from Jerusalem. Both served in the 7007th Battalion of the Jerusalem Brigade. It is explained that, whilst investigating the causes of the accident and the explosion, the army has temporarily grounded all small drones capable of carrying explosive payloads, including both kamikaze drones and those that drop explosives onto a target.
