In the streets adjacent to the Champs-Élysées, dozens of buses unload worshippers from the provinces, often with stools or folding chairs in hand, ready to wait for several hours. Politicians are starting to arrive at the Place de la Concorde to attend the Pope’s Mass, including Rassemblement National (Rn) leaders Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella. But they won’t be the only ones present: Gabriel Attal (Renaissance), Édouard Philippe (Horizons), Éric Zemmour (Reconquête) and Bruno Retailleau (Les Républicains) are also expected to be present.
