(LaPresse/AP) – Nepal’s disaster management agency said that a month after floods hit the Nepal-Tibet border, 1,453 bodies have been recovered, while 5,644 people remain missing. Only 112 bodies were handed over to family members, while 1,333 were temporarily buried pending identification. In neighboring China, authorities reported the presence of 261 foreign nationals among the missing. Tents have been set up at the Nepal Police Hospital in Kathmandu, where family members can provide DNA samples to help identify the deceased. Authorities are comparing the samples with DNA taken from the recovered remains.
