The area is located near RAF Fairford, a base used by US forces for targeted and limited strikes during the conflict with Iran. Police said several men had been detained on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act and that army bomb disposal experts were examining several vehicles. “A security cordon has been put in place, but we want to reassure the public: we believe the incident is under control,” police said.
