Milan, 28 Sept. (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree increasing the authorised strength of the Russian armed forces to “2,441,630 personnel, of whom 1,550,500 are military personnel”. This has been reported by Russian news agencies. Under the previous decree issued this summer, the number of soldiers had been set at 1,535,000; the new measure therefore increases the number of military personnel by 15,500.
