Brussels, Oct. 1 (LaPresse) – “European migration reforms are working; the numbers show it. So we have the foundations: now we need to implement everything. It is also a very important day for the returns regulation, which will be adopted today.” European Commissioner for Migration Magnus Brunner said this as he arrived at the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Luxembourg. “We have the foundations, but it is always about evolving, rethinking strategies, further developing and moving forward,” Brunner added. “Another important issue today is how we use new technologies, such as drones. This is essential both for border protection and for safeguarding our critical infrastructure. We have an EU Action Plan on drones, backed by 250 million euros; today we will step up our efforts by allocating an additional 130 million euros,” Brunner stressed.
