Rome, Oct. 3 (LaPresse) – Russian forces struck the Northern Bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv in the early hours of the morning. The Kyiv Independent reports this. It is the third consecutive day that Russia has targeted strategic bridges in the capital. Explosions were heard in the city shortly after 6:30 a.m., as reports emerged of drones approaching the capital. Videos of the attack posted on social media appear to show a violent explosion on the bridge – which connects the city’s right bank to its left bank – just as vehicles were crossing it. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attack damaged both the bridge’s roadway and the overhead power lines for trolleybuses. Following the attack, traffic on the bridge was suspended.
