Milan, Oct. 5 (LaPresse) – Liberal Party presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro said Sunday evening that the result of the first round of Brazil’s elections shows that the country wants change. In a statement issued outside his home in Brasilia, the senator said he was satisfied with his electoral result, citing the nearly 56 million votes he received. “The watchword is change, Brazil can’t take it anymore and I am very satisfied. It is the end of the PT era. The end of the PT era has been decreed, leaving behind a legacy of record numbers of women murdered, Brazilians in debt and companies closed,” he said. Flávio Bolsonaro said there is a “real possibility” that in three weeks Brazil will have answers to save democracy. “Lula has already taken part in seven elections and is interested in power, while I am interested in Brazil. I am continuing with a clean campaign, as someone who is not interested in perpetuating power,” he said. Bolsonaro Jr. reiterated that he is the only candidate to have pledged not to run again and that he needs only one term. “Brazil will win,” he concluded.
