Rome, 5 Oct. (LaPresse) – “We will win again. This time with even greater strength. To curb rent rises. To reduce working hours. To continue raising the cross-sector minimum wage. Let’s carry on like this. With joy and hope. We must start by approving the two housing decrees once more tomorrow, in the Council of Ministers.” This was posted on the social media platform Bluesky by Spain’s Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour, Yolanda Diaz, following Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s decision to call a snap election. Tomorrow, the government is expected to approve new housing measures, which will need to be ratified by the Permanent Deputation of the Congress of Deputies – a smaller assembly where the votes of the Catalan separatists from Junts will not be required.
