This is revealed in a letter from Zurich Insurance, which is handling the case, as set out in the investigation file. The letter states that the woman’s claim relates to the incident on 1 January 2026, which is being dealt with under the Lainf, the Federal Act on Accident Insurance. In the letter, the insurance company asks the Valais Cantonal Public Prosecutor’s Office for authorisation to potentially pay out benefits. Jessica Moretti and her husband Jacques are the main suspects in the investigation into the fire, in which 41 people died and a further 115 were injured.
