Milan, 7 Oct. (LaPresse) – Eleven people were killed in today’s Russian attacks on Ukraine, described as a “birthday present for Putin” by the Russian army. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on X, referring to the fact that Putin turns 74 today. “Today, as a birthday ‘gift’ for Putin, the Russian army destroyed a residential block in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region. It was an ordinary five-storey block of flats. Tragically, the current death toll stands at five, with 26 injured, including five children. There may still be people buried under the rubble,” wrote Zelensky, adding that “Russian missile strikes also damaged five blocks of flats in Dnipro and four high-rise buildings in Kremenchuk” and “tragically, two people were killed and eight were injured”. Furthermore, “a high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia was damaged by a drone. In Kyiv, the Russians killed two people” and “a further two people were killed in Oleksandriya”. Zelensky added that “overall, infrastructure in Kyiv and 12 regions was targeted last night”.
