Turin, 8 Oct. (LaPresse) – “There are clear signs that Russia intends to take advantage of the coming winter to destroy what remains of Ukraine’s electricity grid and force it to surrender. At the same time, Ukraine has strengthened its capacity to launch long-range strikes deep into Russian territory. We therefore share the concern – which affects the whole world – that the conflict could escalate to involve other countries and perhaps develop into a wider conflict.” This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with the Greek newspaper Kathimerini. “We remain ready to facilitate the process and to continue exploring the options. And if an opportunity were to arise – if there were a possibility of a negotiated solution – we firmly believe that this would be positive for both Russia and Ukraine,” he added.
