Turin, 8 Oct. (LaPresse) – Donald Trump’s election rally in support of Republican candidates in Texas, starting with Ken Paxton, was marred by repeated protests. Some protesters interrupted the president during his speech in San Antonio, and some were removed by the police. One of them was physically assaulted by a Trump supporter as he tried to leave the arena. The president briefly stepped away from the microphone after a protester appeared to have approached the stage. “He’ll be going home to his mum,” the president quipped after the man was led away, “but what he doesn’t know is that his mum voted for Trump.” Supporters, waving cowboy hats and chanting “USA”, drowned out some of the protests with their shouts, whilst Trump told the demonstrators to “go to hell”. The tycoon mocked the protesters’ appearance and claimed that “they are paid by the enemies of our nation”.
