Rome, 10 Oct. (LaPresse) – “There is great tension and concern regarding the survival of international courts, in particular the International Criminal Court in The Hague” and “the serious issue is that a country has announced sanctions against judges precisely because of the judicial rulings they have issued. This is an unprecedented and unacceptable development.” These remarks were made by South African legal scholar Navi Pillay, winner of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, via video link during an event at the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo, in reference to the sanctions imposed by the US.
