Seoul (South Korea), 12 Oct. (LaPresse/AP) – North Korea has fired several ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. This was revealed by the South Korean military, which added that the missiles were launched from an area near the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. The Japanese Ministry of Defence stated that it had detected at least two missiles and estimated that they had landed in waters outside the country’s exclusive economic zone. North Korea’s launch came just a few days after South Korea conducted a test flight of its first domestically produced hypersonic missile, designed to fly at at least five times the speed of sound and evade missile defence systems.
