Milan, 15 Oct. (LaPresse) – The Brazilian Senate has approved a proposed amendment to the country’s Constitution that brings an end to the ‘6×1’ working pattern, which involved six days’ work and one day’s rest per week. This is reported by ‘O Globo’. The reform provides for a reduction in the working week from 44 to 40 hours (with a one-year transition period), meaning workers will be entitled to two days off per week. The measure comes ten days before the run-off election between Brazilian President Lula, who has strongly championed the measure, and Flavio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair and currently leading after the first round.
