Milan, 14 Oct. (LaPresse) – The 14-year-old student who on Monday fired a hunting rifle, injuring a headteacher and a teacher at the secondary school in Aubagne, was remanded in custody this evening in France. This was reported by his lawyer, Fabrice Giletta, after the teenager admitted to the offences. “It has been a long and exhausting day, which came to an end a short while ago before the judge responsible for liberty and detention and, as was to be expected, with my client’s remand in custody,” said the lawyer, as quoted by Bfmtv. During questioning, the teenager had admitted to the offences, “acknowledging that he had been planning the attack for several months”, whilst denying “that he had intended to kill the people he targeted”, according to a statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The student also admitted “to having been influenced” by a movement fascinated by mass killings, as indicated by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT), which is handling the case.
