Our top priority,” added Zelenskyy, “is our energy needs: that is the number one issue. Of course, we want to bring this war to an end as quickly as possible. At present, however, we are seeing no signs from the Russian side indicating a willingness to end the conflict. That is why we must prepare for winter, with a package of ad hoc measures covering not only energy, but also air defence and funding. I am grateful to the European Union for its support.”
