Rome, Oct. 19 (LaPresse) – “We have done everything possible and will continue to do everything possible to help bring this war to an end.” This is what US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said while speaking to journalists in Uzbekistan about the situation in Ukraine. “Over the past two years, we have consistently worked to try to help bring this war to an end. I believe President Donald Trump is open to any opportunity to help end it, if possible. And we will continue to look for ways to do so. So far, of course, we have not made the progress we would have liked, but not because we are failing to make sufficient efforts,” Rubio added, then revealing that the possibility of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and the presidents of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, was being discussed, as previously reported in revelations by the Wall Street Journal. Rubio nevertheless made clear that no plans for a possible meeting had yet been finalised. “I believe a meeting is being discussed. I don’t know whether anything has been decided yet,” he said. Rubio finally clarified that the United States had not suspended the provision of intelligence information to Kyiv.
