Turin, 24 Oct. (LaPresse) – “We are ready to end this war as quickly as possible”. In an interview with ABC News, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his willingness to reach an agreement to end the conflict with Russia, whilst lamenting the decline in US aid. Zelensky stated that, if he could, he would reach a peace agreement today and reiterated that Kyiv is prepared to freeze the ongoing conflict along the current front lines. Russia currently controls over 19 per cent of Ukrainian territory, but Ukraine, he emphasised, is not prepared to cede any further territory to end the war. Zelensky said he did not feel betrayed by the United States, but lamented the lack of American assistance. “That’s how I see it,” he said. “It’s not a feeling of support.” Regarding Donald Trump’s apparent rapprochement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he commented: “I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, because it’s his personal decision whether or not to be friends with Putin. I think they have an excellent relationship, yes.”
