Washington (USA), Oct. 26 (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he is considering the possibility of relocating the historic White House press briefing room. “Also, I am not building a swimming pool in the White House Press Briefing Room, and I never intended to do so” – he wrote in a lengthy post on Truth Social – “I am thinking about moving the Press Briefing Room to another location, but I will use that space for the urgent needs of journalists.” The confirmation comes after the New York Times reported on Tuesday that Trump had expressed to his aides a desire to restore the indoor swimming pool installed in 1933 during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration. The pool was later covered over during Richard Nixon’s presidency to make room for the press briefing room. Trump had already described the reports as “Fake News” in another post on Truth Social on Saturday, but had hinted that he “might move the Fake News to a less objectionable location.” “The old swimming pool will never be rebuilt. It NEVER even crossed my mind to do something so stupid,” he continued. The Trump administration has repeatedly attempted to restrict press access to the White House and the Pentagon. Most recently, Andrew Feinberg of The Independent was removed from his position as a White House-accredited journalist after the president was confronted by the journalist in the Oval Office.
