Milan, October 30 (LaPresse) – “In our country, confidence in the high-speed rail system has been undermined, and the Government’s task is not only to assess the situation and identify the causes, but also to provide solutions to ensure that a tragedy of this magnitude, as King Felipe VI, the head of state, said yesterday, does not happen again.” Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez made the remarks at a press conference alongside the president of the Castile-La Mancha regional government, Emiliano García-Page, following a meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Centre (Cecopi) in Toledo. His comments came after Wednesday’s railway accident in Urda, near Toledo, involving two high-speed trains and leaving 69 people dead.
