Frankfurt (Germany), 31 Oct. (LaPresse) – Donald Trump has once again defended the decision to go to war against Iran, arguing that the United States did not start the conflict and touting the results of the military operation. “We will never allow them to have a nuclear weapon,” the US president declared during an election rally in Daytona Beach, Florida. Trump dismissed criticism of the decision to go to war, stating that “it is a war they started many years ago” and that “Iran has been at war with America since 1979”. The President also reiterated that US forces had destroyed the Iranian navy and air force. Trump then played down concerns about soaring energy costs, arguing that “more oil is passing through the Strait of Hormuz right now than seven months ago”. He added that petrol prices “are falling to much lower levels” than those seen under previous Democratic administrations.
