Milan, 1 Nov. (LaPresse) – The leader of the Yashar party, Gadi Eisenkot, has praised the statement by the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Noam Sohlberg, that last week’s national elections were conducted “fairly”. “The despicable and malicious attempt to deny the election results, undermine the will of the people, defame an entire community and drag Israel into another round of elections has failed,” Eisenkot wrote in a post in Hebrew on X, referring to allegations by Netanyahu and his allies of illegal activities aimed at boosting Arab voter turnout. “Only those who realise they have lost would be prepared to launch such a brazen campaign of delegitimisation, even at the cost of further damaging public trust in state institutions,” he added, stating that the election results “are valid and clear”.
