Washington (USA), Nov. 4 (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that he would accept the results of the midterm elections, but added that he did not consider them a blow against him. “The Democrats did a good job. They fought hard,” Trump said, arguing, however, that the elections were not a referendum on him. Several candidates endorsed by Trump lost in districts where he had won easily in 2024. The tycoon nevertheless blamed the candidates themselves, rather than his policies, which voters had judged unfavourably, such as the economy and the war with Iran. “I don’t consider it a blow against me,” he said. “We have experienced the two most extraordinary years in the history of the presidency.”
