Brussels, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – “Any threat against civilians is unacceptable. Ensuring the safety and security of citizens remains a priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in contact with the Member States concerned and the European Aviation Safety Agency.” This was posted on X by the European Commissioner for Transport, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, regarding the various bomb threats that have affected numerous flights across Europe. “I have asked,” he added, “the national authorities, who are responsible for assessing security threats, to investigate the incidents and implement the appropriate security measures in the aviation sector, whilst working closely with airport operators, airlines and law enforcement agencies. It is still too early to draw conclusions about a possible link between the reported incidents. Investigations at national level are still ongoing.”
