Brussels, 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – The European Commission has disbursed 4.36 billion euros to Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Support Loan. This figure comprises 3.7 billion euros relating to the second tranche of the macro-financial assistance (MFA) agreed for 2026 and 658 million euros earmarked for the defence component of the loan. “Whilst Russia continues its relentless attacks, Ukraine is preparing to face its fifth winter of war. And whilst efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine continue, so too does the EU’s unwavering support. With today’s disbursement of €4.36 billion, we are helping Ukraine to provide essential public services and meet its urgent defence needs,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The disbursements, explains the European Commission, will help meet Ukraine’s financial needs, ensuring the continued functioning of the state and its essential public services. Furthermore, they will help address the country’s urgent defence requirements through the procurement of key military equipment.
