Frankfurt (Germany), 5 Nov. (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hopes that the Democrats’ victory in the US mid-term elections will lead to increased military and financial support for Kyiv. “The Democrats speak very clearly about support for Ukraine, about aid to Ukraine. They talk about restoring relations between the United States and Europe. That is why there is hope that a balance of power will be achieved and that we will receive greater support,” he said in an interview with ZDF. Zelensky added that he hoped the US Congress would provide strong support to Kyiv. “If Congress now speaks of strong financial support or aid in the form of weapons, as Europe is doing and demonstrating today, it will be a positive development that will influence Putin,” he said. The Ukrainian president also spoke about Elon Musk’s role in US politics and SpaceX’s contribution to connectivity in Ukraine. “We are grateful to SpaceX for providing us with the connection. It was very helpful at the start of the war. But we must be very clear: naturally, we do not like his stance on this war,” he said.
