Turin, 8 Nov. (LaPresse) – US President Donald Trump has stated that it is “highly unlikely” that he would have to order the United States to go back to war with Iran, provided that progress is made in the negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear programme and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. “It depends on whether or not they sign a very rigorous agreement,” Trump said in a telephone interview with CNN. “The answer is that it is highly unlikely that this will be necessary. They are a nation in decline. I would do it if necessary, but we have hit them very hard. You have no idea how hard I have hit them. So it is highly unlikely that I will have to do so,” he continued. “They are going to ruin financially. We have hit them militarily. We could finish them off,” the tycoon added.
