National team: Claudio Ranieri declines Italy coaching job, will not be the new head coach

According to LaPresse, the current Roma coach initially declined the FIGC’s offer to focus on his future role as senior advisor for the Giallorossi, despite reassurances from president Gabriele Gravina about the compatibility of the two roles. The federation will therefore begin searching for a new coach to replace Luciano Spalletti, who yesterday, during the World Cup qualifying match against Moldova, sat on the Azzurri bench for the last time.
