Milan, Mar 3 (LaPresse) – ‘Criminalising wine is wrong. Let's remember that wine is our main agrifood export product. To hit wine would also mean damaging the environment. Farmers, in fact, are our custodians of the territory'. This was said in an interview with Tempo by the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida. Regarding his joke about water a few days ago, the minister explained: ‘I never regret it. If anything, if they convince me that I am wrong, I change my mind. That sentence was decontextualised and exploited to the effect that some newspapers bordered on the ridiculous. What I say, in most cases, is supported not by my opinions but by data that with great superficiality is considered marginal in communication'. ‘I certainly did not want to claim that water is bad for you,’ he observes, ’but to express a concept: be careful because even the best product on the planet, i.e. water, if you find a researcher who says it is bad for you, it can become something that is stigmatised.
