Ancona, Sept. 2 (LaPresse) – “Winning.” That is Antonio Tajani’s goal for the regional elections in Marche on September 28–29. Forza Italia is backing the coalition led by Francesco Acquaroli, as it did five years ago.
“We are growing significantly, there is strong support,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the sidelines of a campaign event in Ancona. “We have very competitive candidate lists, and I’m proud of the work done. I’m proud of our regional councillors and of everyone taking part in this campaign. I’m confident the work done will be rewarded.”
Tajani is aiming for double-digit results. Yesterday in Ancona, Matteo Salvini stated that Lega would be the second party: “Our goal is to gain as much support as possible,” Tajani clarified. “We are the second-largest force in the center-right coalition across Italy, as shown in the European elections, and I’m confident we’ll achieve a good result in Marche too. What matters is seeing the results the day after — we’ll see what happens.”
For Tajani, what matters most is that “the center-right wins, so we can continue to govern well for another five years, building on all the projects launched in these first years with Forza Italia in government.”
