Malagò: “Russians and Belarusians at the Paralympics? Even the IOC is surprised”

Rome, Sep 27 (LaPresse) – “The IOC’s position regarding Russians and Belarusians is very clear, I do not take a personal position but as an IOC member I abide by its decisions. I believe the IOC is also surprised by this decision. The IOC has held its executive meeting, and there was no development in this direction.” This is how Giovanni Malagò, president of the Milano-Cortina Foundation and former president of CONI, commented to LaPresse on the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to once again allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the upcoming Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games with their flag and anthem.
