Rome, Oct. 2 (LaPresse) – “As you know, last night, when the boats were nearing the waters of Gaza, the Flotilla was stopped by the Israeli authorities. The boardings were peaceful and non-violent, and were preceded by several approach measures, starting from the mother ship Alma,” said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during his address to the Chamber of Deputies on Gaza. “As previously announced, once at the port of Ashdod, the members of the Flotilla will be identified and detained, and then transferred in the following days on charter flights to Europe,” Tajani explained. “The first departures could begin as early as Friday, especially for those who agree to leave Israel voluntarily. For those who refuse immediate expulsion, it will be necessary to wait for a rejection order from the Israeli judiciary, which could take 48 to 72 hours,” the Foreign Minister concluded.
