Rome, Oct 2 (LaPresse) – “The surgery on the right collarbone was successfully completed. After a fall during the sprint in Motegi, the Spanish rider suffered a displaced fracture of the right collarbone. Recovery times will be assessed in the coming days based on the evolution of his condition. As per regulations, Martin will not be replaced for the Indonesian Grand Prix,” Apriia announced in a statement. The operation was performed on Tuesday, September 30, at the Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona to reduce the fracture.
“Let’s restart! The surgery went perfectly, and the morphine is working well…” commented the 2024 world champion on social media.
“The operation was successful. It was a complex procedure as the fracture had three parts, which were perfectly joined with screws fixing the middle-distal third of the fracture and a containment plate to prevent displacement. Recovery times are not yet known; we cannot provide an exact date for his return, but rehabilitation will begin as soon as possible,” said Angel Chartie, MotoGP medical director.
