Gaza, Hamas agrees to disarmament but rejects Blair as governor

Milan, Oct. 7 (LaPresse) – Hamas has agreed to hand over its weapons to an Egyptian-Palestinian authority during indirect negotiations the movement is conducting with Israel in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
This was reported by Sky News Arabia, citing a Palestinian source, who said the organization has also agreed to allow all its leaders to leave Gaza and has requested guarantees from the United States that they will not be prosecuted.
Furthermore, according to the source, Hamas “rejects the presence of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as governor of Gaza,” but “agrees that he may play a remote supervisory role.”
The organization has also “categorically” rejected the idea of handing over the Gaza Strip to an international transitional committee, in line with the Trump plan.
The source added that Hamas has called for a ceasefire in Israeli airspace over Gaza in order to retrieve the hostages within a week.
