Europa League: Steaua Bucharest-Bologna 1-2, success for Italiano

Milan, 23 October (LaPresse) – A victory dedicated to Vincenzo Italiano. Bologna won 2-1 away at Steaua Bucharest in a match valid for the third day of the Europa League group stage. The Rossoblù, without their coach on the bench due to pneumonia, scored in the 9th minute with Odgaard, served in the small area by Dallinga after a great recovery by Freuler in the attacking third. The second goal came three minutes later with Dallinga himself, who was quick to tap in a rebound from the Steaua goalkeeper after a deflection by one of his defenders. Bologna gave their opponents no space, with Orsolini having two chances to score the third goal, but on the first he failed to pass to the unmarked Dallinga and was stopped by Tarnovanu, while on the second he conjured up a spectacular goal but was clearly offside. Steaua woke up in the final minutes of the half, but Skorupski was unbeatable on three occasions. The Romanians reduced the deficit in the second half with a goal from centre forward Birligea, who beat Lucumi to the ball and Skorupski. In the final minutes, Bologna almost scored a third, first with Dallinga and then with Orsolini, who hit the post. Italiano’s team secured their first victory in Europe after a draw and a defeat. Bologna now have four points in the standings. Bologna superfan Gianni Morandi was also in the stands in Bucharest.
