Jerusalem, Nov. 26 (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has identified the body of the hostage returned on Tuesday as that of Dror Or. According to the Israeli army, Dror Or was killed by Islamic Jihad militants who invaded his home in Kibbutz Beeri on October 7, 2023. His wife, Yonat Or, was also killed in the attack. Kibbutz Beeri was one of the agricultural communities most affected by the assault that triggered the war in Gaza. Two of Or’s children, Alma and Noam, were kidnapped by militants on October 7 and later released following a hostage agreement in November 2023. Almost all hostages or their remains have been returned following ceasefires or other agreements. At this point, the bodies of two hostages remain in Gaza, one Israeli citizen and one Thai.
