Budget, Giorgetti: “With the reformulation on gold we are in line with the ECB”

Rome, Dec. 15 (LaPresse) – “I rightly wanted to clarify the gold issue to Parliament, because they had only read in your newspapers how it went and it seemed right to clarify the matter in person.” This was said by Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, as he was leaving the Senate Budget Committee, where a meeting on the budget was held. “As for the ECB, we are fine. In the reformulation that I presented on behalf of the government, we believe the issue can be considered closed,” he added. “The timing is decided by the committee chairman,” Giorgetti then replied, leaving the Senate Budget Committee, to those asking him about the timing for examining the budget. The minister took part in the Senate in a meeting of the Budget Committee’s bureau, which will have to decide on the timetable for votes on amendments to the budget. At present, committee meetings are scheduled every day until Saturday for the votes.
