Switzerland, police: “Identifying victims very difficult”

Bern, Jan. 2 (LaPresse) – Many families remain uncertain about the fate of the victims a day after the devastating fire in Crans-Montana. The identification of the approximately 40 victims is still ongoing, a police spokesperson said this morning. The work could take several days, the spokesperson told the Keystone-SDA news agency. It is an extremely difficult task given the high number of victims, they emphasized. In the meantime, authorities are in close contact with the families and are also providing psychological support. The exact number of victims has not yet been determined with certainty.
