Earthquake in Mexico: at least two dead, over 500 aftershocks

Mexico City, Jan. 2 (LaPresse/AP) – At least two people have died in the strong earthquake that shook southern and central Mexico and was also felt in Mexico City. According to the Mexican national seismological agency, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.5, with its epicenter near the city of San Marcos, in the southern state of Guerrero, close to the tourist resort of Acapulco on the Pacific coast. There have been more than 500 aftershocks.
