Salvini has shown himself to be inclusive and fair, with the aim of perfect hospitality, so that the goal is to make the guest feel like a prince, but this fairness was not reciprocated,” Luca Zaia said in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “Along the way, we found ourselves having to respond to continuous provocations and statements that were not at all in line with the thinking of the Lega, as had already been publicly expressed. There was premeditation,” he added.
Regarding the possibility that Vannacci should resign from the European Parliament, Zaia said: “He is there thanks to the votes of the Lega; he was elected with our symbol and with the support of a party that has real members – but I repeat: what’s done is done. It will serve as a lesson for us.”
