Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), 14 Feb. (LaPresse) – “I have the honor of leading a country that has in its DNA characteristics that make it a respected and valued partner: a propensity for dialogue, the ability to discuss, respect for others above all else. A nation that has built part of its identity and foreign policy on the deep meaning of a word that, in an unstable and unpredictable world like ours, can be the key to charting the course, and that word is cooperation.” This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the beginning of her speech at the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa. The premier began with a note of thanks. “It is a great honor for me to be here with you today,” and “I want to thank” for “this historic opportunity offered to Italy,” “the invitation to participate in the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, the forum in which this organization discusses its fundamental policy choices and determines the strategic direction of the continent, is a recognition that can only make Italy proud and which Italy accepts with respect and a sense of responsibility. It is a demonstration of trust that we will not disappoint,” Meloni said.
