Rome, 24 February (LaPresse) – ‘There is full technical and morphological compatibility between the configuration of the structure in question – the window with a protective bar and anti-bird wires – and the injuries documented on David Rossi’s face.’ This is what emerges from the expert report by forensic doctor Robbi Manghi who, together with RIS lieutenant Adolfo Gregori, is a technical consultant to the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the death of David Rossi, the head of communications at MPS. The expert report was discussed today at a hearing of the commission. “The nature and distribution of the skin marks, in particular the injuries to the nose and lower lip, accurately reflect the interaction between the anatomy of the face and the metal element of the wire during an impact and friction event,” the report continues in the consultants’ conclusions. The injuries found “in the left zygomatic regions show characteristics of bruising from impact and friction. Their spatial distribution is consistent with the position of the metal bar or crossbar of the window frame and the related lateral wire anchoring systems. The tests carried out with mannequins confirm that, in the dynamics of nose-wire contact, the cheekbone is in direct collision with the upper/lateral portion of the bar or lower frame, fully justifying the location of the traumatic marks on David Rossi’s face.” The injuries are multiple, affecting various areas and are due to the dynamics of a struggle, a confrontation between a person who is rebelling and, I think, one or at least two people who are trying to force him to do something else. Therefore, ‘beyond the image we see, which is a static, still image, in the end, it is all the effect of a dynamic action lasting a few seconds or a few minutes of a person being attacked,’ explained Manghi.
