Fuel: petrol stations that have not reduced their prices have been reported to the tax authorities

Milan, 19 March (LaPresse) – The Mimit Price Monitoring Authority, acting on the instructions of the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and the Minister for the Economy and Finance, Giancarlo Giorgetti, has forwarded to the Guardia di Finanza a list of distributors who have not yet adjusted their fuel prices in line with the excise duty cut ordered by the Government, highlighting the most significant anomalies detected. Checks across the whole country are already underway and will continue on the road and motorway networks and throughout the supply chain. The report is being made in accordance with the new special control regime provided for by the decree-law approved yesterday by the Council of Ministers and follows today’s meeting of the Rapid Alert Commission’s Steering Committee, following which the Ombudsman identified specific indicators of anomalies between pump prices and international quotations. The results of the checks carried out by the Guardia di Finanza will also be forwarded to the Competition and Market Authority for the possible initiation of sanctioning proceedings and, in cases where criminal offences are identified, to the judicial authorities.
