Frankfurt (Germany), Mar. 21 (LaPresse) – Pressure is mounting on Sarah Ferguson to testify about her ties to Jeffrey Epstein, while the former Duchess of York has remained out of the public eye for months. According to the BBC, members of the U.S. Congress—investigating the handling of the Epstein case—believe Ferguson may have relevant information. Representative Suhas Subramanyam has urged the former royal to provide testimony under oath, a position shared by other Democratic lawmakers. A similar request comes from the family of Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s main accusers, who is calling on Ferguson to travel to the United States to cooperate with the investigation. At present, however, there is no legal mechanism to compel her to testify. Her representatives have not commented. The renewed pressure follows the release of U.S. Department of Justice documents that also mention Ferguson among those connected to the financier, though the documents clarify that the mention does not imply any wrongdoing. Meanwhile, according to reports, U.S. broadcasters have offered six-figure sums for an exclusive interview, while the former Duchess’s willingness to speak publicly remains uncertain.
