The report by forensic pathologist Cristina Cattaneo submitted to the public prosecutor’s office is said to provide new evidence regarding the time of Chiara Poggi’s death. This is highlighted by Tg1 in a report citing the forensic report submitted last February. Cattaneo’s report is said to have established that on 13 August 2007, Chiara Poggi was killed at least half an hour after having breakfast. A circumstance which, if confirmed, could push the time of the crime forward and call into question the narrow timeframe within which Alberto Stasi’s conviction places the murder. In the past, there had been talk of a lightning-fast attack, a rapid and violent assault lasting only a few minutes. There are also signs of a violent and prolonged struggle, which could lend specific significance to the DNA traces found under Chiara’s fingernails; according to the new investigation, these are believed to belong to Andrea Sempio. The expert report commissioned by the Pavia Public Prosecutor’s Office is said to focus on three key points: the time of Chiara’s death, the dynamics of the crime, and the weapon used, which has never been found.
