Easter Monday, Coldiretti: “Outings and picnics for 21 million Italians”

Milan, April 6 (LaPresse) – The return of good weather is bringing over 21 million Italians (43%) to spend Easter Monday outdoors, enjoying outings, picnics, and short trips, encouraged by the sun and high temperatures following the cold that marked the early spring. This is according to a Coldiretti/Ixè survey for Lunedì dell’Angelo, which also found that 31% of citizens will stay home to relax, 18% will visit relatives and friends, and the rest will split their time between museums and other activities. For Easter Monday, Italians flock to the classic destinations of Lunedì dell’Angelo: historic art cities, enchanting lakes, sunny beaches, but above all the green areas dominating the landscape. Coldiretti highlights that parks, oases, nature reserves, and open spaces cover about 10% of the national territory, perfect for a getaway into the lush spring nature.

Picnics remain the most popular ritual, with millions of families reusing leftovers from the Easter lunch – for which a total of 2 billion euros were spent. Must-have items include freshly sliced cured meats, aged cheeses, hand-colored boiled eggs, and succulent mixed barbecues of meat or vegetables, accompanied by rustic regional breads and light wines.
