NBC poll: Trump’s approval rating hits all-time low in second term

(LaPresse) – According to a new NBC News poll, the US president’s approval rating has hit an all-time low for a second-term president, standing at 37%, due to his handling of the conflict with Iran. The results, published on Sunday, suggest that 63% of US adults disapprove of Trump’s performance, with 50% expressing strong disapproval. The same poll indicated that 33% of Americans strongly or somewhat approved of the president’s handling of the war, whilst 67% strongly or somewhat disapproved. According to the poll, the war continues to divide Americans along party lines: 82% of Democrats and independents disapprove of it, whilst 74% of Republicans approve. Opposition to the war remains particularly strong among young adults. Whilst 61% of adult respondents said the US should not take further military action in Iran, the figure rose to 74% among those under 30.
